Automation Quality Engineer

We are part of Tieto, a leading technology company with an annual revenue of approximately EUR 2bn.     Tieto Tech Consulting’s team in Bulgaria consists of 500+ professionals specializing in the development of tailored digital solutions in diverse industries.  We are looking for an Automation Quality Engineer who is passionate about improving software quality through automation, innovation, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will work closely with developers, product owners, and quality engineers to build reliable test automation solutions and help deliver high-quality software faster.  You will be part of a collaborative engineering environment where quality is a shared responsibility, and automation is a key component of the delivery process. This role is based on a hybrid work model, with 3 days per week in our Sofia office. Key Responsibilities  Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites Create automated tests for web, mobile, API, and backend applications  Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines  Participate in requirements analysis and provide quality-related feedback early in the development lifecycle  Analyze test results, investigate defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues  Improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and overall quality processes  Support performance, integration, and regression testing activities  Contribute to test strategy, automation standards, and best practices  Work in Agile teams and actively participate in sprint ceremonies  Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation Strong programming skills in Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar languages  Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar tools  Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, or equivalent  Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI  Solid understanding of software testing principles and Agile development methodologies  Experience with source control systems such as Git  Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills  A significant advantage would be Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)  Experience with performance testing tools  Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes  Experience implementing AI-assisted testing solutions  ISTQB certification    Additional Information At Tieto, we believe in the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
