BNPL Lead at JoomPro

JoomPro is the first and only end-to-end cross-border B2B marketplace. It serves small, medium, and large businesses, handling orders of any size from start to finish. Today, JoomPro operates in Brazil and Mexico, with plans to expand into other markets. JoomPro is one of the key businesses of Joom, an international tech-centric group of e-commerce companies founded in 2016 in Latvia. Joom Group also includes other businesses: Joom, a global cross-border marketplace; JoomPulse, an AI analytics tool for Mercado Livre sellers; and Onfy, a pharmaceutical marketplace in Germany. Joom Group has offices in Latvia, China, Portugal, Germany, and Brazil, with its headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal. We work as one international team, sharing knowledge and collaborating across countries, businesses and products. We are looking for an experienced product leader who will take full ownership of Joom Financing — a post-payment product that gives B2B customers credit lines for wholesale purchases. The product is already live, and the next steps are AI-based scoring, the launch of Financing + Fulfillment, and attracting external capital to scale it. Responsibilities Own the P&L of Joom Financing and drive the strategy of the product Develop the credit line product end to end: client scoring, document flow, legal structure, landing pages and unit economics Build AI-based scoring models, including product-based scoring that evaluates both the client and the goods Work with the data yourself: analyse the model and optimise the credit scoring formula, with support from an ML specialist when needed Deliver on target metrics, including the default rate Work directly with developers and ML engineers, and with cross-functional resources: lawyers, designers, the growth team and external consultants in Brazil Incorporate the fulfillment service into financing as a collateral instrument Contribute to structuring the scheme for attracting external capital in China and Brazil Requirements Background in fintech and/or e-commerce, with an understanding of how financing for businesses works Product background: experience building a product and working hands-on with developers and ML engineers Strong analytical mindset: able to work with large datasets and scoring models on your own, using AI instead of specialised BI tools Experience of owning a product as a business, not only as an IT product: P&L, legal setup, design and go-to-market Ability to run the direction independently, with minimal management from above Ability to get up to speed quickly on legal documents, processes and new domains Readiness to work from the office in Lisbon or Latam, relocation supported Preferred Combination of fintech and e-commerce experience Knowledge of the Brazilian market and experience across Latam Understanding of credit scoring and ML models Benefits Compensation package: base salary and performance-based bonuses Office-first: flexible hours with a possibility to work remotely 52 days per year, and 22 days of paid annual leave Care & Wellbeing: health insurance (including dental care) for employees and their children, daily meal allowance, and 100% paid sick leave AI-first approach: licenses and access to a wide range of AI tools Team & Growth: collaboration with colleagues across Portugal, Brazil, Latvia and China, with opportunities for promotions, professional trainings, and English courses Community & Engagement: annual team building activities, knowledge-sharing workshops, and a strong sense of team work Before applying for the above position, please review our Candidate Privacy Notice here: https://legal.joom.com/recruitment/Joom_Unipessoal_LDA_Job_Applicant_Privacy_Notice.pdf By responding to the vacancy, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy notice.
