The posting, as the company wrote it
Quindar builds modern, cloud-native satellite mission operations software with a simple mission: to operate satellites like servers. Our platform replaces fragmented, legacy ground systems with an integrated, automation-driven approach that brings modern software velocity to space operations.
We're a small, fast-moving team with deep aerospace and software roots, energized by big challenges and motivated by the impact we have on real missions in this next chapter of the Space Age. If you want to work with sharp, ambitious people who push boundaries, move quickly, and are excited to take space operations to the next level, Quindar is the place to do it.
What You'll Be Doing
Quindar is building and operating classified environments to support mission partners across the U.S. government. We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to own the systems that keep those environments secure, reliable, and ready for mission operations.
This is a broad, hands-on infrastructure role. You will administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server systems, Kubernetes environments, virtualized infrastructure, storage, backups, and core network services. Working closely with our ISSM, Facility Security Officer, and engineering teams, you will implement security controls, support accreditation activities, and maintain compliant operations in classified spaces.
You Will:
• Deploy, configure, patch, harden, and troubleshoot RHEL and Windows Server systems.
• Build and maintain virtualization, Kubernetes, storage, backup, and recovery systems for mission-critical workloads.
• Manage access controls, monitor system health, review logs, and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Support security assessments, accreditation documentation, remediation plans, and continuous monitoring.
• Automate repeatable administration tasks and improve alerting and operational procedures.
• Diagnose issues across servers, storage, networking, and applications, including occasional scheduled maintenance or after-hours support.
Qualifications
Required
• 5+ years of experience administering IT infrastructure in an enterprise or government environment.
• Current, active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher, with the ability to maintain it.
• Strong hands-on experience with RHEL, including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and security hardening.
• Experience administering Windows Server and Kubernetes environments.
• Experience operating virtualized infrastructure, enterprise storage, and backup and recovery systems.
• Experience applying security and compliance requirements in a classified environment.
• Familiarity with applicable Risk Management Framework processes, NIST security controls, and DISA STIGs.
• Working knowledge of networking, identity and access management, monitoring, and incident response.
• Ability to document systems clearly, resolve problems independently, and own infrastructure from deployment through ongoing operations.
Preferred
• Eligibility for SCI access or experience supporting systems in a SCIF.
• Experience designing infrastructure for high availability and tested recovery.
• Experience automating infrastructure administration and configuration.
• Familiarity with classified network connectivity and the operational requirements of SIPRNet or JWICS.
• Experience preparing accreditation evidence, remediating findings, and supporting audits or inspections.
What Success Looks Like
- Classified infrastructure is secure, reliable, documented, and ready to support mission operations.
- Servers and Kubernetes environments are consistently configured, patched, monitored, and maintained.
- Virtualization, storage, and backup systems meet workload needs, with recovery procedures that have been tested.
- Security findings are addressed promptly, and compliance evidence is easy to produce.
- Engineers and mission operators can depend on the infrastructure and get fast help when issues arise.
ITAR Requirements
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful
- permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or
