Job Description
Renesas is seeking a strategic, customer-focused leader to head the High-Performance AI and Compute (HPAC) business in China.  HPAC, part of the Performance Computing Power (PCP) division, develops high-performance digital multiphase power solutions for AI, cloud infrastructure, data centers, servers, networking, and emerging compute applications.
As Director of HPAC, China, you will own the strategy, business development, and revenue growth for one of the world’s most dynamic AI and data center markets. You will engage directly with leading cloud service providers, OEMs and customers in China, identify new market and technology opportunities, shape product and portfolio strategy, lead a China marketing team (direct reports) and an applications engineering team (dotted-line reports), and mobilize global Sales, Applications, and Marketing teams to secure design wins and deliver sustainable growth.
This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to shape Renesas’ position in China in one of the fastest-growing product lines in the company.
Key Responsibilities
China Strategy & Growth
Own the HPAC China strategy and growth plan, including segment and customer priorities, design-win targets, and revenue goals.
Build deep insight into China market dynamics, customer architectures, technology roadmaps, design windows, and local and global competitors to anticipate opportunities and threats.
Identify emerging technologies, applications, and customers that expand Renesas’ addressable market and strengthen its competitive position.
Translate market insight into clear recommendations for product, portfolio, and investment priorities.
Identify and navigate export-control, trade-compliance, and supply-chain localization requirements in partnership with Legal and Operations.
Customer & Business Development
Build trusted relationships with technical, business, and procurement leaders at China’s cloud service providers, AI companies, server OEMs/ODMs, and other key accounts.
Lead strategic engagements to understand customer architectures, requirements, technology roadmaps, and future power-management needs.
Direct China Sales and FAE teams in opportunity development and design-win execution.
Drive each opportunity from early engagement through design win, qualification, and production revenue.
Articulate Renesas’ differentiated value proposition in China and ensure consistent, high-impact positioning across the organization.
Product & Portfolio Leadership
Partner with Product Management to turn customer and market requirements into compelling product requirements and differentiated roadmaps, keeping customer needs, product strategy, and commercial priorities aligned.
Identify portfolio gaps in China and recommend the products, technologies, partnerships, or investments needed to capture emerging opportunities.
Provide competitive and market intelligence to guide product positioning, roadmap priorities, and go-to-market strategy.
Cross-Functional Execution
Align Product Management, Engineering, Applications, Sales, Marketing, and Operations around China priorities and objectives.
Establish clear ownership, communication, and execution mechanisms for strategic opportunities and customer programs.
Drive disciplined execution and accountability across global, cross-functional teams.  Influence teams across global organizations and cultures, including beyond direct reporting lines.
Leadership & Executive Engagement
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing China team: recruit marketing managers and applications engineers across experience levels, set hiring criteria and interview processes, and retain and grow top talent.  The China marketing team reports directly to this role.  The China applications engineering team reports to this role on a dotted-line basis.  Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations for both.
Build a collaborative, high-performing team culture rooted in ownership, urgency, knowledge sharing, and a customer-first mindset.
Present China strategy, market opportunities, competitive dynamics, design-win pipeline, and business outlook to senior leadership.
