ABOUT LATENT
Latent is the enterprise pharmacy intelligence platform, powered by a clinical agentic engine, that enables health systems to grow their pharmacy operations and serve more patients. One engine works across the pharmacy journey to identify patients who qualify for care, improve medication access, capture eligible prescriptions and support patients throughout treatment. Latent’s platform enables more than 60 leading health systems that collectively serve an estimated 70 million people. Founded by Sriram “Sri” Somasundaram and Rishabh Jain, Latent has raised $80 million from Transformation Capital, Spark Capital, Conviction, General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and others.
THE ROLE
Latent builds clinical intelligence that helps health systems run complex pharmacy operations, giving patient access to the medications they need, and helping care teams focus on serving patients.
The work spans healthcare workflows, enterprise software, and applied AI. Engineers work closely with Product and customer-facing teams to understand the problem, build the solution, and own the outcome in production.
We are hiring our first Engineering Manager. You will lead a portfolio of product engineering teams, working towards accelerating medication access for patients. Each team has a clear area of ownership and an Engineering Lead. Because you are the first person in this role, you will help define what engineering management looks like at Latent rather than run an established playbook.
Your job is to help those teams work effectively. You will mentor and support Leads, hire and develop engineers, and keep teams aligned with company priorities. You will also work directly with Product and business leaders on strategy, prioritization, and execution.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead multiple product engineering teams across product areas
- Coach Leads on technical direction, execution, communication, and team development
- Hire engineers and help each person improve through clear expectations and regular feedback
- Work with Product and business leaders to set directions and team priorities
- Define technical strategies and roadmaps
- Define and improve engineering management practices as the organization grows
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You have experience managing multiple engineering teams, leading through experienced technical leads or other managers
- You truly care about building teams, and helping each person on the team grow their career and impact
- You have made difficult performance and organizational decisions with care and clarity
- You have partnered closely with Product and with stakeholders outside engineering to deliver business outcomes
- You have worked in a domain with complex requirements, multiple stakeholders, or significant operational constraints
- You were a staff-level (or comparably senior) engineer before moving into management, and you can still go deep on architecture and tradeoffs with senior engineers
- You communicate cogently
- You know how to add structure without adding process for its own sake
How we work
- Our teams are small by design. Engineers are expected to understand the customer problem, own their decisions, and follow their work through to deliver business outcomes. Leads handle much of the daily technical direction and leadership. Engineering Managers focus on team quality, coaching, staffing, performance, and alignment across teams.
- This role will suit someone who likes to stay engaged with the substance of the work, and is comfortable making decisions through ambiguity. AI is changing what a small team of strong engineers can build, and we are designing the engineering organization around that. If you are looking for an established playbook to run, this is not the role. If you want to help write it, it will be a good fit.
NICE TO HAVE
- Interest in healthcare, pharmacy, or health technology
- Uses AI tools in your workflow and is always looking for ways to move faster with them

- High-impact role on a small, fast-growing team
