Overview
At Porter, we blend our expertise in interior design and hospitality to create spaces and experiences that add joy and purpose to everyday life. We offer design and procurement services to businesses, and also design and operate a growing list of our own hospitality businesses. At the heart of our business is our flagship location in downtown Seattle, The Shop: an all-day café where we host events, offer space for meetings and private gatherings, and sell a curated selection of sundries, gifts and home goods. The Shop is where we connect with our community and actively refine what it looks like to take care of our guests, from the design of inspiring, inclusive spaces to the experiences we create within them.
We take great pride in our work, not only because of the output, but because of the way we do it: with radical hospitality. At its core, radical hospitality means approaching our work through the lens of how we make people feel, including our guests, our team, and ourselves. It's what we want to be remembered for, and operates as a guidepost for everything we do.
Position Summary
We're seeking an Experience Program Manager to design and deliver Porter's cultural and community experience program, along with Workplace Experience Management across all locations. This role will stand up Experience Management as a standalone, revenue-generating product line — building experience as a product, including direct-to-end-user services — and will report directly to the Managing Director.
The ideal candidate has a builder mentality: energized by starting a new function from scratch and writing the playbook as they go.
Essential Responsibilities:
Own community programming at the asset and end user level Set the community engagement strategy portfolio-wide, while adapting programming to fit each asset's tenant mix and needs.
Build and run Porter produced events as a product Treat events as a revenue-generating line: develop repeatable formats, manage vendors, and track performance to improve results over time.
Own workplace experience management Define and deliver day-to-day service standards that shape how tenants experience Porter spaces.
Develop and manage activation partnerships Source and manage brand and vendor partnerships that activate Porter spaces, from deal terms through on-site execution.
Develop and manage "perks" partnerships Build and maintain a portfolio-wide perks program with retail and lifestyle partners that adds value for end users.
Build a partner network for VIP and concierge experiences across the portfolio Establish a vetted vendor network to deliver premium, on-demand experiences for VIP tenants.
Manage a team of activation and sales personnel Hire, lead, and set performance standards for the team executing activations and driving partnership revenue.
Program PnL accountability Own the budget and revenue targets for Experience Management, reporting financial performance directly to the Managing Director.
Education/Experience
8-10+ years in hospitality, private club management, or experience/brand program management
Private club background strongly preferred
Track record building or scaling a service line with real P&L accountability, not just an internal function
Experience building experiences for corporate clients or end users
Direct experience managing community, events, or cultural programming teams
Experience running a client facing service offering with defined pricing and delivery standards
Experience managing embedded, on site teams across multiple locations
Comfortable owning a budget and reporting performance to executive leadership
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Commercially minded: you understand demand generation, pricing, and how experience work converts to revenue
A cross functional operator who works fluidly with Operations, Marketing, and Finance without needing tight hand holding
A builder: comfortable standing up a new function and writing the playbook as you go
Client facing and credible in front of corporate clients and end users, not just internal stakeholders
Nice to Have:
Existing network of local partnership operators (restaurants, fitness, wellness) usable for the partnerships toolkit
Prior experience in a matrixed org structure, comfortable with dotted line relationships
Experience selling into commercial real estate owners or tenant/occupier accounts
Familiarity with commercial real estate lease/asset management context
Employee Benefits:
15 days of PTO
9 Paid holidays
Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance
401k + Employer Match
Paid Parental Leave
Wellness App with reimbursement of up to $500/year
Profit Sharing
