Welcome to Huble 👋, HubSpot’s 2024 global partner of the year! We are a global HubSpot, AI, marketing & creative consultancy enabling mid-market and enterprise businesses to move faster, adapt smarter, and innovate freely—by building their business around HubSpot’s CRM. We believe in striking a balance between professionalism and being human.
We’re looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of the numbers behind a growing international business. With 175+ people, subsidiaries in nine countries and more currencies than anyone would choose for fun, you’ll make sure our financial information is accurate, on time and actually useful.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll lead the accounts team and own the finance function end to end, from bookkeeping and month-end close through to Group reporting, cash flow, budgets and the annual audit. You’ll report directly to our Group Finance Director.
We need someone with strong technical foundations who is also commercially curious, comfortable challenging the business, and gets a genuine kick out of making things work better. If you’ve ever looked at a manual spreadsheet process and thought “there has to be a better way”, we’d love to talk.
📍 This role is primarily work-from-home in the UK, with a small office in central London and some international travel.
🚀 Here are a few of the tasks you'll get to work on
Run the day-to-day finance function across all Group entities, from bookkeeping through to trial balance.
Lead the month-end close and produce accurate, timely management accounts and consolidated Group reporting.
Own cash-flow forecasting and keep a close eye on Group cash, debtor days and working capital across currencies.
Strengthen financial controls, policies and approval processes, including intercompany and transfer pricing.
Own revenue recognition across projects, retainers and subscriptions, and improve visibility of margin by customer, service and region.
Lead budgeting and reforecasting, and turn variances into clear insight the leadership team can act on.
Run the annual audit and coordinate statutory accounts, VAT/GST and tax compliance with external advisers.
Simplify and automate finance processes (yes, including finding out what AI can do for us).
Lead, develop and grow a high-performing accounts team.
🏗️ To excel in this role, you should have the following
ACA, ACCA or equivalent UK accounting qualification.
Experience managing a finance or accounts team.
Hands-on knowledge of the full accounting cycle, from bookkeeping through to consolidated management accounts.
Experience across multiple legal entities, currencies and jurisdictions, including intercompany accounting and transfer pricing.
Strong knowledge of financial controls, audit, statutory reporting, VAT and payroll.
Solid cash-flow, budgeting and forecasting experience.
Xero experience and strong Excel skills, plus a track record of improving finance processes and systems.
⚡️ These personal qualities are key to your success
Commercially curious, and comfortable challenging the business when the numbers don’t add up.
A natural leader who coaches and develops people.
Able to explain complex financial information in plain language.
Confident and articulate with stakeholders at every level, including the leadership team.
Highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail and a healthy respect for deadlines.
Motivated by improving how things work, not just keeping them running.
🎁 As part of the remuneration package, you will receive the following
🌍 Remote work - Work from home within the UK, with access to our central London office when you want it.
🪑 Home office budget - Create your optimal workspace with a budget for a desk and chair.
