About General Legal
General Legal is an AI-native law firm on a mission to make exceptional legal services available to every company. We hire experienced attorneys from top firms and equip them with specialized AI technology that lets them supercharge their practice. The result: elite-level legal work with same-day turnaround, at a flat rate that's a fraction of what traditional law firms charge. In just six months, we've already delivered on that for more than 500 clients. We're fast-growing and venture-backed, building in the open and moving fast, without losing the rigor of the legal profession we're modernizing.
Role Summary
General Legal is hiring a Growth Marketing Lead to build and run the digital and content engine that drives awareness, demand, and pipeline for our legal services. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role: you'll own everything from SEO and paid acquisition to content creation and campaign performance, working closely with sales to turn marketing effort into revenue. We're looking for a mid-career marketer who can build fast, test relentlessly, and turn early traction into a repeatable growth engine.
What You'll Do
Content Marketing
Plan and publish content (blog, case studies, email, social) that builds authority and drives organic growth
Develop a content calendar aligned with SEO strategy and target audience needs
Partner with legal and product teams to translate expertise into accessible, compelling content
Digital & Performance Marketing
Own SEO and AEO strategy and execution, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, and content structure
Plan and run paid acquisition campaigns (search, social, retargeting) and manage budget and ROI
Build and optimize the website and landing pages for conversion
Marketing Operations & Analytics
Set up and maintain marketing analytics, attribution, and reporting across channels
Run experiments to identify and scale the highest-performing growth channels
Partner with sales to ensure marketing-sourced leads convert into pipeline
What You'll Bring
3-5 years of hands-on digital and content marketing experience, ideally at a startup or fast-growing company
Strong technical SEO skills and comfort with marketing and analytics tooling (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console, or similar)
Excellent writing skills; comfortable producing content independently, not just briefing others
Experience running and optimizing paid digital campaigns
Data-driven approach: comfortable setting up tracking, interpreting results, and iterating quickly
Self-starter energy; comfortable building process and infrastructure from scratch in a resource-constrained environment
Bonus Points
These aren't required, but they tend to line up with success in this role.
Experience marketing to legal, compliance, or other B2B professional buyers
Experience with marketing automation or lifecycle email campaigns
Basic website/CMS experience (e.g., Webflow) or comfort making light HTML/CSS edits
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $110,000–$140,000, based on experience
Equity: meaningful early-employee equity grant.
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
401(k) plan
Flexible PTO and paid company holidays
