Middle Java Automation QA Engineer

Employment: Full-time Experience level: Mid-Senior Level Job Description We are looking for a Middle Java Automation QA Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of automated tests for applications built on a microservices architecture.  The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Java automation testing, API testing, BDD frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines, along with a good understanding of Agile development practices.  Key Responsibilities  Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests using Java  Perform functional, integration, and regression testing for microservices-based applications  Create and maintain automated tests using BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, JBehave, or JGiven  Perform REST API testing using Postman (or similar) and Java-based automation tools  Integrate and execute automated tests within CI/CD pipelines  Work with Jenkins, GitHub, and OpenShift as part of the development and testing lifecycle  Perform database testing and data validation using SQL queries  Identify, report, and investigate defects, collaborating with developers to resolve issues  Analyze automated test results and troubleshoot test failures  Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives  Collaborate with developers, testers, and Product Owners to ensure software quality  Contribute to improving existing automation frameworks and testing processes  Qualifications Required Technical Skills  Java Automation: Hands-on experience with Java for automated testing  Experience with at least one BDD framework: Cucumber, JBehave, or JGiven  Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts  Good understanding of automation testing principles and best practices  Microservices & API Testing: Experience testing microservices-based applications  Good knowledge of REST APIs and API testing concepts  Hands-on experience with Postman or similar tools  Experience with functional, integration, and regression testing  CI/CD & Development Tools: Experience working with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines  Familiarity with GitHub and version control practices  Working knowledge of OpenShift environments  Nice to Have  Experience with Spring Boot-based applications.  Familiarity with non-relational databases  Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven architecture  Experience with Performance testing (with JMeter)  Experience with Pact/Contract testing   Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment  Soft Skills  Good analytical and problem-solving skills.  Strong communication and teamwork abilities.  Ability to work independently on assigned testing activities.  Attention to detail and commitment to software quality.  Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.  Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.  Additional Information Discover some of the global benefits that empower our people to become the best version of themselves: Finance: Competitive salary package, share plan, company performance bonuses, value-based recognition awards, referral bonus;    Career Development : Career coaching, global career opportunities, non-linear career paths, internal development programmes for management and technical leadership; Learning Opportunities: Complex projects, rotations, internal tech communities, training, certifications, coaching, online learning platforms subscriptions, pass-it-on sessions, workshops, conferences; Work-Life Balance: Hybrid work and flexible working hours, employee assistance programme; Health: Global internal wellbeing programme, access to wellbeing apps; Community: Global internal tech communities, hobby clubs and interest groups, inclusion and diversity programmes, events and celebrations.
