About Proof of Human
Proof of Human is building the global standard for human verification across the internet. As the line between human and machine behavior becomes harder to discern, establishing who or what is behind every interaction is becoming foundational to the integrity of a digital world. Founded by Princeton PhD Scientists, Mayank Agrawal and Matt Hardy, Proof of Human is a research and technology company developing the science, products, and infrastructure required to meet this challenge at global scale.
About the role
We’re looking for a part-time Business Development Representative (BDR) who loves selling and wants a flexible work role. You’ll work directly with the founders and staff to win new customers for Proof of Human, owning the sales process from finding prospects and starting conversations to negotiating and closing deals.
With a flexible 20-hour workweek and uncapped commission, this role offers the opportunity to build something yourself and grow our business. You’ll have agency to develop your own approach, build repeatable sales systems, and use automation to keep your pipeline moving so each hour becomes more productive. We’re looking for someone who gets a thrill from closing a deal, takes ownership of their results, and sees the opportunity to help shape Proof of Human’s growth.
What you’ll do:
- New Business Generation: Find and pursue customers who have a real need for Proof of Human. Build prospect lists, pick up the phone, run outbound campaigns, and use your network to create opportunities. Take responsibility for keeping your pipeline full.
- Customer Conversations: Lead discovery calls and demos that move prospects toward a purchase. Understand what matters to the buyer, make a compelling case for Proof of Human, handle objections, and ask for the business.
- Deal Execution: Own the sale from first contact to signed agreement. Navigate decision-makers, negotiate commercial terms, follow up with purpose, and work through the obstacles that stand between interest and commitment. Bring in the founders and technical team when their involvement helps you close.
- Sales Systems & Automation: Build a sales operation that makes every hour more productive. Use prospecting tools, automated outreach sequences, CRM workflows, and follow-up systems to consistently generate opportunities and give yourself more time to sell.
- Pipeline & Revenue Ownership: Know where every deal stands, what it could be worth, and what needs to happen to win it. Prioritize the opportunities most likely to convert, reengage stalled conversations, and hold yourself accountable for bringing in revenue.
You’ll be a good fit if:
- You love the sale. You enjoy opening doors, earning someone’s trust, and getting a deal across the finish line. Winning business is satisfying to you, and you’re motivated by the financial rewards that come with doing it well.
- You create your own momentum. You can find a starting point, take initiative, and keep moving without someone directing every step. You’re resourceful when an approach stalls and persistent about finding one that works.
- You’re curious and persuasive. You ask good questions, listen closely, and understand what matters to the person across from you. You can explain an unfamiliar product clearly and connect its value to a customer’s specific needs.
- You make every hour count. You’re organized about your pipeline, disciplined about follow-up, and thoughtful about where you spend your time. You look for ways to improve your results and build systems that make you more effective.
