The posting, as the company wrote it
Spacelift is the infrastructure orchestration platform built for the modern software era, managing the full lifecycle for both traditional IaC and AI-accelerated infrastructure. It integrates with Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, Pulumi, and Ansible in a single governed workflow so you deliver secure, compliant infrastructure at scale. Developer self-service, Golden Paths with guardrails, an OPA policy engine, and drift detection accelerate developer velocity while maintaining control. Spacelift Intelligence adds AI-powered provisioning and diagnostics across traditional and AI-driven workflows.
Spacelift was founded in 2020 by long-time DevOps practitioner Marcin Wyszynski and successful entrepreneur Pawel Hytry and has raised $82.3M in funding over four rounds from top venture capital firms including Insight Partners, Blossom Capital, Hoxton Ventures, Inovo Venture partners and Five Elms Capital.
About the role
Spacelift is looking for a Product Manager to own our Kubernetes application-delivery product , a new product for teams that run Argo CD in production.
You will own the product from customer discovery through delivery, launch, and adoption. Working with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Support, you will identify important customer problems, decide where to invest, and turn validated opportunities into products customers use.
Most teams running Kubernetes have settled on Argo CD and do not want another CD engine. Their problems sit around it: promoting a release through environments without hand-written CI glue, knowing which version runs where, gating production on approvals and tests, and passing values from Terraform into application config. The product works with the Argo CD a customer already runs. We have an early design that captures the idea, not a spec, and parts of it will change. You will test the idea with customers, decide what the product should be and what ships first, and take it to market.
This role is for an experienced product manager who has owned technical products and brings hands-on production experience with Kubernetes application delivery. You should also understand core infrastructure-as-code workflows, because connecting infrastructure to applications is part of the product.
What you'll do
Speak regularly with platform engineers, DevOps teams, infrastructure leaders, prospects, and customers.
Study production workflows to understand problems involving governance, coordination, visibility, reliability, and adoption.
Combine customer interviews with product usage, support cases, commercial feedback, and market research to identify the problems worth solving.
Define product requirements, success measures, and clear recommendations using tools such as 5 Questions, PR/FAQs, specifications, and decision records.
Prioritize work based on customer value, strategic fit, effort, risk, and potential learning.
Work with Design to explore, prototype, validate, and refine solutions.
Partner with the Engineering Manager on scope and trade-offs while Engineering leads architecture and technical execution.
Recruit design-partner customers and run pilots of early versions with them.
Work with the Director of New Product Development on product direction, major investment decisions, and the path to market.
Coordinate launch readiness with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Support.
Review adoption and customer feedback after release, then decide whether to improve, expand, or stop the work.
Build and apply working knowledge of Spacelift, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, policy, cloud infrastructure, and our execution engine, including how the Kubernetes product connects with existing IaC workflows.
What we're looking for
3+ years of product management experience, including independent ownership of a technical B2B product or product area from discovery through delivery and adoption.
Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes application delivery, gained through product management, engineering, solutions engineering, or a similar technical role: Argo CD, Helm, Kustomize, and GitOps promotion across environments.
The ability to explain how these tools work and where teams encounter operational or organizational challenges.
Working familiarity with Terraform or OpenTofu and core IaC workflows, including Git-based changes, plan and apply, state, policy, and drift.
Experience identifying user problems, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative evidence, and turning findings into clear product decisions.
Strong written communication and the ability to work directly with engineers and technical customers.
Good judgment, curiosity, and a willingness to change direction when the evidence supports it.
Strong written and spoken English (B2 or above).
Based in European Union.
Nice to have
Experience with Kargo, Flux, Argo Rollouts, Harness, or another GitOps delivery tool.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, OPA/Rego, CI/CD, RBAC, audit systems, or internal developer platforms.
Experience in B2B SaaS or developer tools.
Familiarity with Working Backwards, 5 Questions, or another evidence-led product practice.
Experience using SQL, product analytics, or AI tools for research and analysis.
