Compensation Details:
Scrum Master 17: Salaries typically range from $84,698 to $112,931 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location:
Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement to work from the office three days per week (subject to change).
This role will be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:
Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.
The Enterprise Data Operations & Technology (EDOT) team continues to strengthen EDC’s enterprise data ecosystem by delivering, operating, and modernizing the platforms and data capabilities that enable secure, trusted, and accessible data across the organization. The team supports reliable delivery and operations across the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) through strong delivery practices, platform management, data solutions, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
The Scrum Master (Agile Project Manager) supports the team’s ability to deliver on their committed goals and operational responsibilities. The successful candidate will help teams learn and adopt delivery and operational best practices, facilitate agile events, and remove impediments. This individual is also a personal coach for team members and an innovator who constantly seeks continuous improvement and builds high performing teams.
What you will be doing:
Agile Delivery Planning & Team Facilitation:
Lead scrum ceremonies and facilitate planning, prioritization, and execution activities. Support the development and delivery of annual OKRs and quarterly delivery plans, ensuring alignment between business priorities and team commitments. Manage dependencies, remove impediments, facilitate problem-solving, collaboration, conflict resolution and enable teams to deliver against agreed objectives and timelines.
Delivery Management & Execution Oversight:
Maintain delivery plans and Roadmaps, monitor progress against milestones, coordinate cross-team activities, and provide clear status reporting to support successful delivery of business and technology outcomes. Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.
Data Operations & Service Management Support:
Support the intake, triage, prioritization, and coordination of data incidents, Service Now requests, business intakes, vulnerability management and operational issues. Assist teams with change management activities, including impact assessment, readiness, communication, and coordination to minimize disruption to data services.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management:
Identify, track, and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints. Facilitate resolution through collaboration, escalation, and mitigation planning to minimize delivery impacts.
Stakeholder Management & Governance:
Build strong relationships with business, technology, vendor, and executive stakeholders. Manage expectations, facilitate alignment, and ensure visibility into delivery progress, risks, decisions, and priorities.
Continuous Improvement:
Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance team effectiveness, delivery practices, and operational processes. Review existing operations in own area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered.
Team Collaboration & Enablement
Foster collaboration, transparency, and knowledge sharing within and across teams. Clarify team objectives and interdependencies while empowering teams to take ownership of their delivery outcomes. Clearly frame team's purpose and create space for the team to operationalize as they see fit.
What we are looking for:
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce or Business Administration.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager.
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting project delivery and operational activities in a technology environment.
Intermediate knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile principles, DevOps and the Scrum and Kanban Frameworks.
Basic understanding of cloud-based data platforms and how data solutions are delivered and operated.
What will make you stand out:
Scrum Master and/or PM certification (e.g. PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, DASSM).
Knowledge of AzureDevOps and Planview applications.
Project management, technical business analysis or business systems analysis experience.
Working knowledge of ITIL practices and ServiceNow (ITSM) to support incident, request, change, and service management processes.
Reporting analytics experience with PowerBI, MS Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview, Azure Cloud Engineering and Profisee considered an asset.
Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
