As a senior engineer on the AI team, you'll build AI-driven products and systems that support internal teams, serve external customers and help Airwallex scale its expanding AI portfolio. - Build AI solutions that enable growth and improve internal efficiency across Airwallex. - Design robust APIs and system architecture for new AI applications. - Own the end-to-end development of AI-driven solutions for internal teams and external customers. - Shape the architecture and APIs that underpin advanced AI systems. - Partner with cross-functional teams to bring customer-focused AI solutions to life. - Raise engineering standards through high-quality, maintainable code, strong system design and effective mentoring. You'll work from our Singapore office five days a week. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR ESSENTIALS - 3+ years of backend software development experience, with a focus on AI. - Experience building internal or customer-facing products with LLMs. - Proficiency in Python. - Expertise in building efficient, large-scale software systems. - Experience designing and developing large-scale, distributed, high-concurrency, high-load and highly available systems. - A track record of writing high-quality, maintainable code. - Excellent communication and mentoring abilities. - A relevant degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field. PREFERRED - Familiarity with MLOps practices and deployment pipelines for AI-driven products. You’ll build intelligent financial products and autonomous agents that understand business context, plan and reason across multi-step workflows, execute actions within clearly defined controls, and learn from outcomes. The work spans agent architecture, orchestration, context and knowledge systems, ontology, evaluation, governance, monitoring, and reliability. The challenge is uniquely demanding: AI systems are probabilistic, while moving money requires precision, permissions, auditability, deterministic controls, and regulatory compliance. You’ll help define where AI should reason and where financial infrastructure must remain deterministic—turning frontier models into safe, controllable systems that businesses can trust.
