Job Description
The Senior Compliance Assurance Officer plays a key role in delivering effective, risk-based compliance assurance across the EMAP region. This role is suited to someone who can combine strong hands-on assurance delivery with a broader responsibility to contribute to the continuous improvement across the function.
You will lead and support compliance assurance reviews across a broad and varied business environment, working with stakeholders to assess controls, identify and test compliance risks, report findings clearly, and help drive actions through to resolution.
This role has a wider remit than the delivery of assurance reviews. Alongside assurance execution, you will help strengthen methodology, reporting quality, and manage GenAI-enabled tooling, while contributing to how the Compliance Assurance function evolves across the region.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead assurance reviews and regional delivery
Plan and execute compliance assurance reviews in line with the Global Compliance Management Programme and the annual EMAP Compliance Assurance Plan
Define review scope, testing approach, and review programmes
Build and perform testing of compliance controls
Conduct fieldwork, reviews, and fact-finding meetings
Maintain clear, accurate, and high-quality working papers
Turn findings into action
Prepare reports that clearly set out findings, risks, conclusions, and required actions
Work with business owners and management to agree practical action plans and mitigation steps
Track agreed actions through to closure and report on progress
Escalate high-risk issues where appropriate
Shape the wider assurance approach
Support the Head of Compliance Assurance in developing and implementing the compliance risk monitoring and testing process
Provide input into the annual Compliance Assurance Plan
Support other EMAP Compliance colleagues in undertaking compliance testing and applying a consistent assurance approach
Help maintain and evolve the EMAP Compliance Assurance methodology, reporting templates, and GenAI tooling to improve productivity and effectiveness
Support governance and regional insight
Maintain accurate records in Archer and track open issues raised by the team
Help keep management informed through clear reporting on key indicators, deliverables, and review progress
Maintain a broad understanding of the business and regulatory environment in which Experian operates
Contribute insight on recurring risk themes and opportunities to improve assurance effectiveness across the region

Qualifications
Technical and functional capability
Good working knowledge of EU privacy and data protection regulation and its key principles
Experience planning and delivering assurance or testing reviews from scoping through reporting
Strong analytical, investigative, interviewing, and testing skills
Confidence using Excel and PowerPoint and developing or maintaining analysis and reporting tools
Strong organisation, planning, and project management capability
Experience and judgment
Around 5 years of experience in monitoring, testing, assurance, or audit within regulatory compliance
Experience working in a substantial regulated organisation, ideally in Financial Services
Strong judgment and the ability to assess complex issues in a pragmatic, risk-based way
Ability to operate independently while balancing detail, pace, and regional context
Stakeholder and communication strength
Ability to work effectively with business owners, compliance colleagues, and senior management
Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and well-structured reports
Fluent in English
Ability to support and influence others across a regional team without formal line-management authority
Professional audit qualification such as ACCA, CIA, or CISA
