The posting, as the company wrote it
At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most.
About the Product team
The Product team listens to our customers’ needs and translates those insights into a clear product vision. The team works closely with design, engineering, and analytics to build scalable financial products that empower people to manage their money with confidence. We rely on empathy, curiosity, and business sense to prioritize features and improve experiences. Our role is to lead with clarity, support cross-functional execution, and champion the user in every decision.
About the role
Post-purchase experiences are one of Affirm’s most critical customer experiences, directly shaping customer trust, credit performance, and the economics of every loan we serve. We’re looking for a Senior Director of Product Management to lead the teams responsible for the end-to-end repayments journey—from how customers manage and make payments to how Affirm supports customers through delinquency, collections, credit reporting, bankruptcy, and financial hardship.
This leader will oversee a large, multi-domain product organization and set the long-term strategy for several foundational post purchase consumer experiences and platforms. The ideal candidate is a seasoned product leader who brings together customer-centered thinking, platform strategy, financial discipline, and strong organizational leadership.
What you’ll do
Lead and scale a high-performing product organization. Manage and develop a team of approximately 15 product managers, including people managers. Set a high bar for product craft, strategic thinking, execution, and talent development.
Own the end-to-end repayments strategy. Define the multi-year vision for how customers manage and repay their Affirm loans, including the app and web experiences, consumer payment platforms, payment success, and support for customers experiencing financial difficulty. Improve customer outcomes and recovery performance through smarter treatments, flexible payment options, payment retries, and scalable operational capabilities.
Transform collections and recoveries. Set the product strategy for Affirm’s collections and recoveries experiences and platforms.
Set the vision for critical platforms. Lead the strategy for communications, open banking, credit reporting, bankruptcy, and hardship platforms—ensuring these capabilities are scalable, compliant, and able to support Affirm’s continued growth.
Deliver meaningful business and customer impact. Establish clear goals and success metrics across customer experience, payment performance, delinquency, recoveries, transaction costs, complaints, and operational efficiency.
Balance customer needs, risk, and economics. Make thoughtful product decisions that strengthen customer trust while improving credit outcomes and long-term loan economics.
Drive cross-functional alignment at scale. Partner closely with Engineering, Analytics, Credit, Risk, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance to establish shared priorities and translate strategy into coordinated execution.
Enable global scale. Build platform capabilities that can support new products, international markets, regulatory requirements, and increasingly complex servicing needs.
Influence senior leadership. Clearly communicate strategy, investment priorities, performance, and tradeoffs to executive stakeholders. Help shape company-level decisions across the broader consumer and financial platform ecosystem.
What we look for
15+ years of product management experience, including leading large, high-performing teams of PMs and people managers across multiple domains
Deep experience in consumer fintech, lending, payments, servicing, collections, or another regulated financial environment
Proven ability to define and execute multi-year strategies spanning customer experiences, complex platforms, and operational capabilities
Strong customer, technical, and analytical judgment, with the ability to balance customer outcomes, risk, compliance, and business economics
Track record of driving alignment and execution across Engineering, Analytics, Risk, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and executive leadership
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to create clarity, influence senior stakeholders, and develop strong product leaders
Proficiency with AI-assisted tools to accelerate analysis, decision-making, and team effectiveness
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
