The posting, as the company wrote it
Clara is the leading spend management platform in Latin America. More than 40,000 businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the fastest-growing company in Latin America. We're ~400 people, backed by Kaszek, monashees, Coatue, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others.
We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join Clara's Integrations team — the squad responsible for connecting Clara's financial platform to the ecosystem of ERPs, banks, payment processors, and enterprise systems that power our clients' operations across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia.
You'll design and build the integrations, pipelines, and APIs that keep Clara's financial data flowing reliably across dozens of third-party connections. Fullstack here is real — several of our most important upcoming initiatives require building internal tooling and client-facing interfaces from scratch, and you'll be expected to own those end to end.
AI fluency is central to how we work on this team — you're expected to use it across the full development lifecycle, from design to deployment, and to reach for it whenever it makes you faster or better.
In this role, you will:
Design, build, and maintain backend integrations with payment processors, ERP platforms, and financial infrastructure providers across Latin America
Architect scalable, secure, and observable services that handle sensitive financial data with the reliability our clients depend on
Build and own frontend interfaces when the initiative calls for it — internal tooling, integration dashboards, configuration UIs
Use AI tools to automate repetitive engineering workflows, accelerate delivery, and close skill gaps — from scaffolding integrations to generating and reviewing code
Set the technical bar through code reviews, architectural input, and hands-on mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Data to translate complex integration requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions
Identify and tackle tech debt that creates operational risk or slows the team down
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role.
Must haves:
5+ years of backend software development experience, with at least 1–2 years working across the full stack
Strong software architecture and system design skills — you've built systems that scale and fail gracefully
Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages; our primary stack is Java / Spring Boot
Good frontend knowledge in one or more frontend language/framework (our stack is React)
Demonstrated use of AI tools throughout the development process — design, coding, code review, debugging, and documentation. Experience using tools like Claude, Devin, or n8n to automate repetitive or complex engineering workflows
Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Operations
Working proficiency in English
Nice to haves:
Experience with AWS, Metabase, or Databricks
Familiarity with SQL or Python for backend or data use cases
Background in fintech, payments, banking integrations, or credit infrastructure
A good sense of humor — we work hard and we like to enjoy it
Why Clara
A high talent-density team driven to make an impact in Latin America — low ego, high ownership.
Competitive salary and stock options (ESOP) from day one.
An annual learning budget and accelerated development paths.
English is our working language, with Spanish and Portuguese every day.
How we work

Ownership — We own everything we do, end to end. When something needs to happen, we don't wait.
Pride — We hold ourselves to a high standard, and it shows in what we deliver.
ABC (Always Be Changing) — We adapt fast, embrace change, and keep learning.
Inclusivity — Diverse ideas, stories and perspectives build a better Clara.
Hybrid at Clara
Claridians split their time between the office, customers and home. We don't set a minimum number of office days for most roles, but we expect you to spend time there naturally, and most days during your ramp-up or when your leader asks.
If you meet the must-haves, apply — the nice-to-haves are a bonus, not a requirement.
