Employment: Full-time
Experience: Mid-Senior level
The GoTymeX Lending Technology team builds the platforms and services that power our digital lending products. Our systems support the end-to-end lending journey, from customer onboarding and loan applications to credit decisioning, loan management, repayments, and servicing.
We are a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers, data specialists, and business stakeholders. Together, we build secure, reliable, and scalable financial products that make lending more accessible and convenient for our customers.
We are looking for an experienced engineer who is customer-focused, pragmatic, and comfortable working through complex or ambiguous problems. You should enjoy collaborating across teams, taking ownership of outcomes, and continuously improving both our products and engineering practices.
About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, you will design, build, and operate full-stack systems for GoTymeX's lending products.
You will develop modern web applications using React.js, build backend services and APIs using Java and Python, and deploy scalable solutions on AWS. You will work on business-critical capabilities across loan origination, credit decisioning, loan servicing, repayments, and internal operations.
You will lead technical design, translate business requirements into maintainable solutions, and deliver features from initial discovery through production rollout. You will also help ensure production quality through automated testing, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvements to system reliability and security.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
· Design, build, and maintain customer-facing and internal web applications using React.js.
· Develop secure, scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java and Python.
· Lead technical design and implementation for lending journeys, including loan applications, credit decisioning, account management, repayments, and servicing workflows.
· Build and operate cloud-native solutions using AWS services and infrastructure.
· Design reliable integrations with internal platforms, third-party providers, financial institutions, and data services.
· Develop clean, accessible, responsive, and maintainable user experiences.
· Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, data teams, risk teams, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
· Design data models and APIs that support scalability, security, auditability, and regulatory requirements.
· Own production readiness, including monitoring, alerting, dashboards, operational runbooks, and release quality.
· Investigate production issues using logs, metrics, traces, and other observability tools, and implement preventive improvements.
· Improve automated testing across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end layers.
· Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews, mentor other engineers, and contribute to stronger engineering standards across the team.
Continuously improve system performance, reliability, security, and developer productivity
Requirements
What Essential Skills You Will Need
· At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong full-stack development capabilities.
· Hands-on experience building production web applications using React.js and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
· Strong backend development experience using Java, including frameworks such as Spring or Spring Boot.
· Practical experience using Python to build backend services, APIs, automation, or data-processing components.
· Experience designing and building RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations with internal or external systems.
· Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native application development.
· Good understanding of distributed systems, service architecture, API design, data modelling, asynchronous processing, and reliability trade-offs.
· Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
· Understanding of secure software development practices, particularly authentication, authorization, data protection, and management of sensitive customer information.
· Experience delivering projects independently from requirements and technical design through testing, deployment, and production support.
· Strong automated testing practices across frontend and backend systems.
· Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across applications, services, databases, logs, metrics, and cloud infrastructure.
· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern software delivery practices.
· Strong ownership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
· Ability to provide constructive code-review feedback, mentor engineers, and help improve team engineering practices.
The Nice to Have
· Experience working in fintech, banking, lending, payments, credit, or another regulated financial-services environment.
· Understanding of lending concepts such as loan origination, underwriting, credit decisioning, disbursement, repayments, collections, and loan servicing.
· Experience integrating with credit bureaus, identity-verification providers, payment gateways, banking platforms, or financial data providers.
· Experience with event-driven architecture and technologies such as Kafka, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, or Amazon EventBridge.
· Experience with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, or IAM.
· Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
· Knowledge of security, compliance, auditability, and data-privacy requirements for financial products.
· Experience building internal operations tools, workflow platforms, or customer self-service products.
· Familiarity with AI-assisted software development, coding agents, or LLM-powered product capabilities.
