About Capco
Capco is a global business and technology consultancy dedicated to the financial services industry. We combine deep industry expertise with consulting and technology capabilities to help leading financial institutions solve complex challenges and deliver meaningful transformation.
Across APAC and globally, we partner with banks and financial institutions on programmes spanning business transformation, digital and technology change, operating model transformation, regulatory change and large-scale programme delivery.
At Capco, you'll work in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where people are trusted to take ownership, challenge conventional thinking and deliver tangible outcomes for our clients.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced PMO professional with a strong banking or financial services background to support and govern complex transformation programmes across our clients.
You will bring a combination of programme governance, portfolio management and banking transformation experience, helping senior programme leadership maintain visibility and control across scope, financials, risks, dependencies, resources and delivery outcomes.
The role may support transformation across banking domains such as Retail Banking, Private Banking & Wealth Management, Corporate & Transaction Banking, Payments, Capital Markets, Risk & Regulatory Change, or other areas of financial services.
This is a client-facing role suited to someone who can go beyond PMO administration — bringing structure, insight and challenge to complex programmes and helping senior stakeholders make informed delivery decisions.
What You'll Do
Programme & Portfolio Governance
Establish and maintain effective PMO governance, controls and delivery standards across complex banking transformation programmes.
Support Programme Directors, Project Managers and senior stakeholders in maintaining effective oversight of programme performance.
Coordinate governance forums, Steering Committees and programme reviews, ensuring decisions and actions are clearly captured and followed through.
Maintain programme-level visibility across scope, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks and delivery outcomes.
Ensure projects and workstreams operate consistently within agreed governance frameworks and standards.
Planning & Delivery Oversight
Develop and maintain integrated programme and portfolio plans across multiple projects and workstreams.
Track key milestones, deliverables and dependencies and identify potential delivery risks or slippage.
Challenge project teams where plans, assumptions or delivery status require further scrutiny.
Consolidate project-level information into a clear programme or portfolio view for senior leadership.
Support programme prioritisation and planning activities across competing initiatives.
RAID & Change Control
Own or coordinate programme-level Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID) management.
Ensure risks and issues are appropriately assessed, owned, tracked and escalated.
Identify cross-project dependencies and potential impacts across the wider transformation programme.
Maintain effective change-control processes and assess the impact of proposed changes on scope, timeline, resources and cost.
Financial & Resource Management
Support programme financial management, including budget tracking, forecasting, actuals and variance analysis.
Maintain visibility of resource requirements, capacity and allocation across projects and workstreams.
Identify financial or resource risks and provide meaningful analysis to programme leadership.
Support business cases, investment governance and programme funding processes where required.
Executive Reporting & Insights
Produce concise and meaningful programme reporting for senior management, Programme Sponsors and Steering Committees.
Translate complex programme data into clear insights, trends and actions rather than simply reporting status.
Monitor programme KPIs and delivery health, highlighting areas requiring management attention.
Prepare executive-level materials that support effective decision-making and governance.
Stakeholder & Team Management
Build strong working relationships across business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, finance and other functions.
Work closely with Project Managers and workstream leads to drive consistency and accountability across the programme.
Engage confidently with senior client stakeholders and challenge constructively where required.
Coordinate with vendors, system integrators and external delivery partners where relevant.
Where applicable, lead and develop PMO team members and establish effective PMO ways of working.
What We're Looking For
8+ years of PMO, Project Management or Programme Management experience within banking or financial services.
Demonstrated experience supporting or governing complex transformation programmes, rather than purely administrative PMO activities.
Strong banking domain exposure, ideally across one or more areas such as:
Retail Banking
Private Banking / Wealth Management
Corporate / Commercial Banking
Transaction Banking / Cash Management
Payments
Capital Markets / Markets
Risk & Regulatory Change
Core Banking
Other relevant banking products or functions
Strong experience across programme governance, integrated planning, RAID management, change control, financial management and executive reporting.
Ability to analyse programme information and identify risks, trends, dependencies and areas requiring intervention.
Experience working across multiple projects or workstreams within a complex programme or portfolio.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior management, Programme Sponsors and Steering Committees.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to produce clear executive-level reporting.
Comfortable operating in complex, fast-paced and highly regulated environments.
Advantageous Experience
Previous experience within management consulting, technology consulting or professional services.
Experience supporting major banking transformation or regulatory programmes.
Experience establishing or improving PMO governance and delivery frameworks.
Exposure to portfolio management, investment governance or programme prioritisation.
Experience managing PMO teams or coordinating geographically distributed delivery teams.
PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, Agile or equivalent project/programme management certification.
