Senior Python Developer

At the core of the role We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join a long-term ERP modernization project in the retail domain. You will build and optimize backend services, improve system architecture, and develop integrations supporting operations across multiple European markets. You will collaborate with a cross-functional Scrum team of developers, QA engineers, Product Owners, and Operations specialists, contributing to technical decisions and scalable solutions. Core skills you’ll bring 7+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Python expertise Strong knowledge of FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and REST APIs Experience with RabbitMQ, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous communication Strong SQL skills, including ORM performance and query optimization Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and service decomposition Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes/OpenShift Understanding of authentication and authorization (RBAC, ABAC, JWT) Advanced English and strong communication skills Nice-to-have GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry) Microsoft/Azure identity and access management experience Experience with AI-assisted development tools The impact you'll create Develop and optimize backend services and APIs using Python, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy Design event-driven integrations and modernize backend architecture for scalability and maintainability Improve database performance, security, and system reliability Support CI/CD, deployments, and production troubleshooting while collaborating with cross-functional teams  What supports your journey Long-term project with meaningful technical challenges Opportunity to influence architectural decisions Collaborative team environment and continuous professional growth People are at the core of Avenga.
