As EDC strives to be the leader in helping Canadian exporters go, grow, and succeed internationally, the Digital Platform Delivery & Architecture (DPDA) group plays a critical role in enabling leaders to leverage technologies by providing an easy-to-use, secure and fit-for-purpose digital business platform.
To support this vision, the Digital Business Platforms group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Edge Delivery Services, Design Systems & AI-Enabled Engineering to deliver modern, scalable engineering capabilities for EDC’s Web Experience platform and help evolve its engineering practices for the future.
This role is responsible for the hands-on design, development, support, and operation of EDC's Web Experience platform, with a primary focus on Adobe Edge Delivery Services and the Adobe Experience Cloud ecosystem. The incumbent will lead the technical implementation and continuous evolution of EDC's Digital Experience Design System, translating design standards and tokens into accessible, high-performing, and reusable components, blocks, and templates that can be consistently applied across digital experiences.
The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer with strong expertise in web engineering, cloud technologies, DevSecOps, automated testing, accessibility, performance optimization, security, and systems integration. They leverage AI coding agents responsibly throughout the software development lifecycle to accelerate analysis, implementation, testing, documentation, modernization, and incident resolution, while maintaining accountability for engineering decisions and production outcomes.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required to partner with UX, Design, Product, Content, Architecture, and delivery teams, and to translate strategic objectives into incremental, measurable outcomes.
What you will be doing:
Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and high-performing digital experiences on Adobe Edge Delivery Services and across the Adobe Experience Cloud ecosystem.
Deliver the technical implementation and evolution of EDC’s Digital Experience Design System, translating design tokens, interaction patterns, and UX specifications into reusable, production-ready blocks, components, and templates.
Establish component architecture, APIs, naming conventions, composition rules, documentation, versioning, and contribution standards that enable teams to extend the Design System consistently and safely.
Ensure digital components and experiences meet requirements for accessibility, responsive design, browser compatibility, Core Web Vitals, SEO, security, localization, analytics, and content authoring.
Engineer integrations across Adobe Web SDK, Analytics, Target, Forms, APIs, identity, content, and enterprise services.
Use AI coding agents responsibly throughout the software development lifecycle to accelerate analysis, implementation, test generation, documentation, modernization, troubleshooting, and code review while maintaining human accountability for quality and production outcomes.
Define engineering guardrails for AI-generated code, including secure context management, traceability, intellectual-property protection, automated validation, and mandatory human review.
Implement automated quality practices, including test-driven development, unit, integration, contract, accessibility, visual regression, performance, security, and end-to-end testing within CI/CD pipelines.
Maintain hands-on ownership from solution design through coding, deployment, observability, incident resolution, and continuous improvement, reducing technical debt and operational complexity.
Partner with UX, Design, Product, Content, Architecture, and delivery teams to translate business outcomes into incremental technical deliverables and drive alignment between design assets and production implementations.
Coach engineers, provide meaningful code reviews, promote reusable engineering patterns, and measure improvements in Design System adoption, delivery lead time, deployment frequency, quality, reliability, and developer experience.
What we are looking for:
Post-secondary degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Minimum of 7 years of hands-on software development experience, including delivery and operational ownership of enterprise digital solutions.
Advanced proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, modern web development, and component-based architecture.
Hands-on experience with Adobe Edge Delivery Services, Adobe Experience Manager, or a comparable enterprise digital experience platform.
Demonstrated experience implementing and evolving enterprise Design Systems, reusable component libraries, design tokens, responsive interfaces, and production-ready implementations from UX specifications.
Strong knowledge of WCAG accessibility requirements, web performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, cross-browser compatibility, and secure software development.
Experience integrating digital platforms with REST APIs, JSON, content services, analytics, experimentation, identity, forms, and enterprise services.
Practical experience using AI coding assistants or coding agents in professional software delivery, with sound judgment regarding human review, security, privacy, traceability, and intellectual-property considerations.
Strong automated-testing practices, including unit, integration, accessibility, visual regression, performance, security, and end-to-end testing.
Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and cloud-based delivery tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
Demonstrated ability to translate business and design outcomes into incremental technical deliverables, troubleshoot complex issues, and own solutions through production.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with UX, Design, Product, Content, Architecture, security, and delivery teams.
Demonstrated learning agility and adaptability, with the ability to rapidly acquire new skills, experiment with emerging technologies and engineering practices, incorporate feedback, and continuously improve delivery approaches in a fast-evolving digital environment.
What will make you stand out:
Adobe Edge Delivery Services, Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Web SDK, Analytics, Target, or Adobe Developer certifications.
Experience with Figma, design-token workflows, Storybook or comparable component documentation and collaboration tools.
Experience establishing a Design System contribution and governance model across multiple product or delivery teams.
Experience configuring repositories, instructions, reusable prompts, tools, and validation workflows for enterprise AI coding agents.
Experience with large-scale content migration, platform modernization, or replatforming initiatives.
Working knowledge of Python, C#, cloud-native services, containers, or Kubernetes for integrations, automation, and supporting services.
Azure Developer, DevOps, Security, or AI certifications.
Previous experience in the financial services industry or another highly regulated environment.
