Senior Storage Consultant / Commvault Specialist

Employment: Full-time Job Description Mission: We are looking for an experienced Senior Storage Consultant / Commvault Specialist to join our Infrastructure Services Operations team. In this role, you will serve as the operational subject matter expert for enterprise storage, backup, recovery, and cyber resilience platforms, with a strong focus on Commvault technologies. You will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and continuously improving enterprise storage and data protection environments. Your primary focus will be ensuring service availability, operational stability, compliance, and customer satisfaction while providing expert support for mission-critical infrastructure. Storage & Data Management Operations Operate and support enterprise storage environments. Perform proactive monitoring and health checks to ensure platform availability and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents affecting storage infrastructure. Conduct root cause analysis and participate in problem management activities. Perform capacity management and provide recommendations for storage optimization. Execute firmware upgrades, patch management, and operational maintenance activities. Support storage-related change requests and ensure successful implementation within established processes. Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles. Participate in on-call support and major incident resolution when required. Ensure compliance with SLAs, operational standards, and governance requirements. Commvault Backup & Recovery Operations Administer, monitor, and support Commvault backup and recovery environments. Ensure successful execution of backup, restore, replication, and retention processes. Perform backup troubleshooting and recovery operations for enterprise customers. Manage upgrades, patches, and day-to-day platform maintenance. Monitor backup success rates and proactively address failures and operational risks. Execute and document recovery testing and disaster recovery exercises. Support hybrid and cloud-based backup environments. Maintain backup policies, retention schedules, and compliance requirements. Participate in major incident handling and recovery activities. Provide operational support for cyber recovery and ransomware protection solutions. Cyber Resilience & Service Continuity Maintain immutable backup and cyber recovery environments. Support regular testing of recovery procedures and business continuity capabilities. Monitor compliance with security and regulatory requirements. Contribute to audit activities and remediation actions. Implement operational best practices for data protection and cyber resilience. Identify operational risks and propose improvement initiatives. Service Delivery & Customer Support Act as the senior technical escalation point for storage and backup-related incidents. Provide expert support to customers and internal operational teams. Participate in service reviews and operational governance meetings. Assist in resolving recurring issues through continuous service improvement initiatives. Create and maintain operational procedures, runbooks, and technical documentation. Collaborate closely with service managers, architects, and other infrastructure teams. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members. Contribute to service transition activities to ensure operational readiness of new solutions. Qualifications Required Qualifications & Experience Technical Skills Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent through experience. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, and recovery technologies. Strong operational experience with Commvault Complete Data Protection. Required Commvault Certifications or equivalent Mandatory: Commvault Certified Professional (CCP) Preferred Commvault Certified Engineer (CCEng) Commvault Certified Expert (CCE) Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms such as: o Dell EMC o NetApp o HPE Alletra / Nimble Experience supporting virtualization platforms: o VMware vSphere o KVM o Nutanix Understanding of cloud-based backup and storage services: o Microsoft Azure o Amazon Web Services (AWS) o Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments. Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance management. Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash is considered an asset. Operational Competencies Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Experience working in ITIL-based support environments. Knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management processes. Ability to prioritize workloads in a dynamic operational environment. Customer-focused approach with strong communication skills. Commitment to service quality, stability, and continuous improvement.
