The Tech Principal will use their expert tech knowledge to influence the direction of projects, whilst coaching a team through engineering best practices to build and deliver remarkable products. They will champion software quality and technical vision for AND and our clients, work on large-scale projects and support the team to grow in their roles. About you: You care deeply about producing high-quality work that delivers real value and measurable outcomes You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems collaboratively You bring strong expertise in your craft, alongside a willingness to keep learning You communicate clearly and build trust quickly with clients and teammates You’re pragmatic, adaptable and outcome-focused You enjoy sharing knowledge and helping others grow You value low-ego collaboration and enjoy working as part of multidisciplinary teams You can balance multiple priorities and manage your time effectively, contributing beyond client delivery What you’ll bring to the table: Software engineering experience across the whole stack including a specialism in Java and Backend Development. Comfortable with providing technical leadership whilst being hands-on with development teams, understanding what great code looks like and able to see the bigger picture, taking into account architecture and applying a DevOps mindset. Proven experience mentoring and sharing and receiving regular feedback to help the Developer community develop and become more effective in their specialisms. Experience collaborating with operations teams to shape the people we recruit, the client projects we win and be passionate about being part of the wider digital community, and contributing to and representing the business. Supporting business growth by developing technical solutions that strengthen client relationships and enable new opportunities. Evaluates technologies and strategic platforms to inform build-versus-buy decisions and establish scalable long-term technical foundations. As a Principal you will be comfortable shaping how we deliver our engagements being the content (technical) experts bringing the best thinking of AND to our clients in terms of standards, templates, ways of working, tools and accelerators. Experience of working as a senior team member in Scrum or Kanban teams, applying best practices and using common teamwork techniques. Practical experience with and understanding of AI at scale within your current role or organisation. Hands-on experience providing guidance and driving technical strategy for enterprise artificial intelligence solutions. Strong consultative skills, using open questioning to uncover core client problems and unlock opportunities for impact and value. Why join AND Digital?
