Employment: Full-Time
VetsEZ is currently seeking a Tech Writer to join a team to support a project with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The position will support the Data Migration & Syndication effort within the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO).
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinates work activities, writes and edits highly complex technical information technology-related documents, including presentations, manuals, reports, and specifications.
• Develop and distribute communications related to core functions, e.g., SDLC quarterly releases, Process/Policy changes, etc.
• Edit documentation for style, clarity, consistency, and adherence to customer guidelines.
• Research highly complex technical concepts to edit policies, procedures, workflows, and manuals and create new technical documents.
• Conducts interviews with various technical staff to gather data for documentation.
• Strategically document, communicate, and train processes to engrain in people, process, and technology culture.
• Evaluates and provides feedback on draft documents and attends documentation reviews.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, computer science, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant technical writing experience
• Ability to interface with technical staff and end-users to understand functional requirements to develop processes and procedures.
• Experience and understanding of good documentation practices and proficiency with core Microsoft software/systems such as Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.
• Experience with Change Management functional, regression, performance, etc.
• Experience with all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), mainly creating the User's Requirements Document and translation into a Functional Requirements Document and Design Document (when applicable).
• Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance/update of technical documents needed for developers to start coding, distribution of final codes, training guides, and physical training for code deployment.
• Experience in the VA or other federal organizations desired.
• Experience with Data Migration and Data Syndication within the VA desired.
• Ability to obtain a Government clearance.
Security Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government clearance.
