Employment: Full-time
Fuse Energy is an energy startup on a mission to make energy abundant and affordable, fast. We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.
We've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber.
We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.
We’re looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join our China supply chain team. As an early member, you’ll own supplier selection, pricing and cost for our hardware, working directly with our Head of Supply Chain China and our UK finance and R&D teams. We're looking for a commercially minded sourcer with deep technical acumen, who can tear a supplier quote down to material, process and margin, and negotiate directly with top-tier suppliers to win on price, lead time and capacity.
Responsibilities
Source, qualify and manage suppliers for assigned component categories, from RFQ (request for quotation) to award
Break supplier quotes down into material, labour, process and margin, benchmark them and negotiate price and terms
Own BOM (bill of materials) cost-down, including tooling and NRE (one-off engineering costs) and volume tiers
Validate the cost impact of every design or spec change with suppliers
Secure supply across lead times and capacity, and escalate fast when suppliers slip
Build resilience through dual-sourcing and new supplier development
Be the real-time link between Chinese suppliers and our UK teams
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline from a top-tier university
Sourcing or procurement experience in hardware, electronics or manufactured physical products
Hands-on negotiation with contract manufacturers or component suppliers, with results you can quantify
Strong grasp of BOM cost, tooling and NRE and how suppliers build a quote
Proficient in Excel: formulas, pivot tables, multi-tab workbooks, cost breakdowns and supplier comparisons
Comfortable working with engineering through design-for-manufacture and production ramp
Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin
Organised and resilient, comfortable owning the day-to-day of supplier management
Benefits
Competitive salary and eligibility for equity
Biannual bonus scheme
Fully expensed tech to match your needs
Private health insurance
Breakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employees
As we hire globally, benefits vary by location.
