About InvestEngine
InvestEngine is everything the modern investor should need: unbeatable value, market-leading automation, and a platform built for easy, long-term investing.
We’ve built a strong foundation, with over £3.5 billion invested, award-winning service, and a passionate team. Now we’re scaling quickly — and our Finance function needs to scale with us.
About the Role
We’re looking for an FP&A Manager to join our Finance team.
Your mission is to give our leadership team and Board a reliable, forward-looking view of InvestEngine’s financial performance. You’ll own the budget, forecasts and management reporting , build robust Excel models that link our growth drivers to P&L, cash and capital, and turn the numbers into clear insight that helps us make faster, better-informed decisions.
You’ll report to Marc de Gentile-Williams and work with budget holders across Product, Marketing, Operations, Technology and Risk.
What You’ll Do
Deliver the monthly management accounts and MI pack, with clear budget vs actual variance commentary
Build and own a single, documented, driver-based three-statement model (P&L, balance sheet and cash) that reconciles to actuals in Xero
Run the rolling quarterly reforecast and improve forecast accuracy over time
Lead the annual budget and business plan process, working with budget holders to agree and sign off their numbers
Produce a 13-week cash forecast and monthly runway view, and provide inputs to ICARA and going-concern assessments
Prepare Board and committee finance packs, including a KPI dashboard covering AUA, revenue, CAC, unit economics and cost per client
Reduce manual reporting effort through better templates, Xero integration and automation
What We’re Looking For
Ideally 5+ years in FP&A, management accounting or commercial finance
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills — you build clear, error-free, driver-based models from scratch (XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, dynamic arrays, pivot tables, Power Query)
Hands-on experience running budget and reforecast cycles and explaining variances in terms of business drivers
The ability to turn analysis into concise recommendations for non-finance leaders and the Board
A strong accuracy and control mindset: checks, reconciliations, documented assumptions and version control
Confidence partnering with and challenging budget holders across the business
English fluency at C1 level or above — we are a UK-based company and the role involves regular communication across the business
Nice to Have
Experience with Xero (or strong experience with comparable systems)
Experience in financial services, fintech or an investment platform
ACA, ACCA or CIMA (qualified or part-qualified)
How We Work
We’re a lean, fast-moving team that values clarity, ownership and transparency.
You’ll have the freedom to improve how things work, the responsibility to follow through, and the backing of a team that values clear thinking and open dialogue. We believe in solving problems at the root rather than simply treating the symptoms.
What We Offer
Impact from day one
Your models and reporting will directly shape how leadership and the Board make decisions.
Room to grow
As InvestEngine scales, you’ll have opportunities to expand your responsibilities and help shape how the Finance function operates.
Transparent and open culture
We share information openly, keep communication clear and encourage collaboration across the business.
Supportive, high-calibre team
You’ll work alongside talented people who care about both the quality of their work and the success of the wider team.
Our Hiring Process
Introductory call with our Talent team
Interview with the hiring manager on budgeting, forecasting and commercial insight
Timed financial modelling case study in Excel
Final interview focused on how you work and your alignment with InvestEngine
We aim to keep the process straightforward, transparent and efficient.
