Dive in and thrive!
Your Role
As Team Lead Product Management for Grid Operation , currently comprising six team members, you will take responsibility for the strategic direction and ongoing development of our solutions in this area. You will lead a team of Product Managers and a Staff Product Manager, enabling grid operators to operate their low- and medium-voltage grids safely, transparently, and with increasing levels of automation. You will take an end-to-end approach to workflows across applications – from grid planning through system control to grid operations – and collaborate closely with the entire leadership team in our Tech organization. Drawing on your technical expertise and knowledge of grid operations, you will ensure that our products remain innovative and aligned with our customers’ long-term needs, particularly those of distribution system operators across Europe.
How You Make an Impact
Leadership Responsibilities
Leadership & Coaching: You lead and develop a growing team of Product Managers and foster a motivating, collaborative environment.
Team Building: You oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding, and develop suitable roles and specializations within the team.
Performance & Development: You set clear goals, monitor progress, and support your team’s development.
Team Organization: You improve workflows and processes and collaborate closely with other tribes, particularly the Planning and Grid Hub tribes.
Functional Responsibilities
Product Strategy: Together with Product Leadership and your team, you shape the strategic direction of Operations and Field Services – particularly the vision for low-voltage grid control and operations (LV SCADA).
End-to-End & Customer Focus: You align product development with end-to-end grid operator workflows and customer needs, and support revenue-critical customer projects.
Agile Product Development & AI: Together with the leadership team, you evolve agile ways of working and leverage new opportunities offered by AI in software development.
Regulatory Compliance & Technical Expertise: You contribute your understanding of grid operations and technical interdependencies, incorporating regulatory requirements, critical infrastructure protection requirements (KRITIS), and IT security into the strategy and roadmap from an early stage.
Stakeholder Management: You bring together internal and external stakeholders and ensure close alignment between Product Management, Engineering, Design, and customer-facing teams.
Your Profile
Perfection is a myth! We’re much more interested in the person behind the screen. Think of these criteria as guidelines rather than a checklist. We’re excited to see how your unique skills could complement our team.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in product management or delivering agile software development projects. You also have experience building complex organizational structures and/or processes.
Leadership Skills: Ideally, you have already successfully led a team and have experience building and developing highly motivated, high-performing teams.
Communication Skills: You can communicate complex topics clearly and concisely and present them persuasively – to your team, customers, and management alike.
Technical Understanding: You are familiar with grid operations processes and systems (e.g., grid control systems, grid state monitoring, switching operations, and outage management) and agile software development processes.
Security & Compliance Awareness: You understand the specific requirements for software used in critical infrastructure environments (KRITIS, the German IT Security Catalogue, and NIS2) and factor them into product decisions.
Industry Knowledge: You have a good understanding of the energy sector and its key challenges, including renewable energy integration, the operation and control of distribution grids, and the digitalization of power grids.
Analytical Thinking: You take a data-driven, solution-oriented approach to your work.
Languages: You have excellent written and spoken German and English skills.
